Colombia Welcomes New Perspectives on International Design

August 3, 2026

By: laferiadediseno

From September 10–12, 2026, Medellín will once again become a meeting point for the design industry. At Plaza Mayor, La Feria will bring together a curated selection of brands, architects, interior designers, buyers, developers, and industry leaders from different countries.

Design that connects markets

The international reach of this edition takes shape across different settings throughout La Feria: business conversations, international delegations, specialized content, and relationships between professionals with shared interests.

The purpose is clear: to connect Latin American design with new markets while bringing new perspectives into Colombia that broaden the region’s design conversation.

The Latin American Meeting creating new connections

The 4th Latin American Design and Business Meeting will be one of the central platforms of this edition. Over three days, exhibiting brands, architects, interior designers, developers, hotel groups, distributors, buyers, and international specifiers will take part in an agenda designed to facilitate meaningful connections.

Alongside specialized business meetings, the program will feature conversations around biophilia, emotional design, hospitality, and the role of Latin American design on the global stage.

Its previous edition brought together more than 110 participants from 15 countries, 20 international speakers, and 35 specialized brands. In 2026, the goal is to continue expanding this international network of collaboration.

This year, the experience begins before La Feria opens, with profile curation and tailored agenda-building, and continues afterward through follow-up on the contacts and projects generated during the event.

The program is designed to connect participants around specific projects, markets, and business interests, creating relationships with real potential beyond the event itself.

Three countries, three ways to connect

The 13th edition of La Feria will welcome prominent international delegations that will enrich the experience for exhibitors and professional visitors: Spain, Brazil, and Italy.

Spain will participate with seven brands, supported by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones and Interiors from Spain, presenting furniture, lighting, interior design, and habitat solutions for architects, distributors, developers, and buyers across the region.

Brazil will bring a delegation of ten brands, supported by ABIMÓVEL – Associação Brasileira das Indústrias do Mobiliário, highlighting the strength of an industry recognized for its production capabilities, innovation in materials, and contemporary approach to furniture for residential, commercial, and contract projects.

Italy, meanwhile, will be represented through the ITA – Italian Trade Agency, with a dedicated space focused on promoting Italian design and building new relationships with the Latin American market.

Each delegation brings a different perspective. Spain presents a curated selection of brands; Brazil expands the international business connections of its furniture industry; and Italy begins a strategic exploration of the market. Together, they create new opportunities for representation, distribution, specification, and project development between Latin America, the Caribbean, and the world.

Medellín and idd cologne: a partnership strengthening the design industry

La Feria’s international reach is further strengthened by idd cologne, connecting Medellín with Koelnmesse’s global expertise and with one of the industry’s key platforms for interior design, furniture, hospitality, and contract.

This relationship creates a bridge between two complementary ecosystems, each with a distinct identity: the international experience and reach of idd cologne, and the production capabilities and diversity that define Latin American design.

The 4th Latin American Design and Business Meeting, the international delegations, and this strategic connection are all part of the same vision: to continue positioning Medellín as one of the region’s most relevant platforms for the design industry.
